Stars, infinity, and a broken phone

Just wanted to put a quick post up for those of you who read this that my phone is not working. I was really hoping to get caught up on some phone calls to friends and family this weekend, but we had workers on the roof on Friday and I think they screwed up the line. I came home that night and the line was dead. However, the internet works. Go figure. Luckily one of my friends let me borrow her cell phone, because of course Eric is out of town this weekend. So I am not totally cut off from the world.

Australian customer service- calling on Friday night to say that my phone is dead, being put on hold, then finding out that the phone will be fixed between now and cease of business on Wednesday. So it might get done by the end of the week, LOL.

Until Eric gets back guess I just have to be inspired tomorrow and clean (I haven't really picked up in a while and I am spastic about how long its been since I cleaned the toilets) and do lots of laundry, since I am going out of town again on Tuesday. I also have a dinner invite, which is awesome cause I don't feel like cooking for myself and would just make myself a sandwich if I was eating at home. What can I say, I can be lazy. Sandwiches taste good, I can eat them on a paper plate, so no real effort involved. Of course eating at someone else's house involves even less effort, if that's possible.

Went to a "Bush BBQ" tonight and had a good time. It was really amazing how many stars were out. Just incredible. Since its a new moon and we were pretty far from town you could just see hundreds of stars. I'll have to get Eric help me put up a picture that he took of the stars the other night... it is awesome. Amazing how wondrous just looking at a night sky can make you feel. To realize that there is just so much more out there, and that no matter how much we all think we are the center of the universe, its just not true.

Perspective. Its a strange thing.

Anzac Day

So its been over a month since I have posted. I was reminded of this fact by my little sister, who says she checks my blog every day. Whoops. Happy Birthday, Anne! Only a few days late, but now its out for everyone to see!

Today is Anzac Day, where Australians commemorate all the Australia/New Zealand Armed Forces. Good for them! Fun aussie fact: Did you know that Australia has been the US's only ally to be in every armed conflict from 1900-present? I didn't realize that. But don't ask me which war they were our ally in that UK wasn't- I think it might have been Korea, but really not sure. In other Australian News, there is a Category 5 cyclone that might hit the major city in the Northern Territory called Monica. As of last night Darwin was on alert. Yikes. Hopefully they won't have too much flooding.

Eric is apparently going to Darwin this weekend to do some fishing. They are going to drive up Friday, go out on a boat Sat. & Sun, then come home Monday. Hope he catches a lot of fish!!

I joined an official volleyball team for the season (not just the 4 week tournament we played in March) and tonight was our first game. We lost, but it wasn't too bad. However my hand is going to be bruised tomorrow- I can already feel it. Ah well. Hopefully not too much typing to do at work!

Not a whole heck of a lot going on other than that. I guess I will post more about my life in a few more days. We are hoping to go to Cairns or somewhere else fun and exciting in July. Will definitely post some pics when we do go somewhere neat!!

Gotta go shower and start winding down for bed.
